Future Steps respects the privacy of people seeking help, making referrals, supporting our work, and visiting this website. This notice explains our current practices in plain language.

Please do not send sensitive health or financial information by email.
Do not email medical records, Social Security numbers, insurance member numbers, financial account information, payment-card information, photographs of an injury, or other sensitive health information. If more information is needed, Future Steps will discuss an appropriate next step with you.
Information you choose to provide
Future Steps may receive information that you provide by email, phone, or through a service we use. This may include your name, contact information, city or county, the reason for your inquiry, and other information you choose to share.
If you refer another person, please obtain their permission before sharing their name or contact information. We ask that you provide only the minimum information needed for us to respond.
How we use information
We may use information to:
- Respond to questions and requests for support.
- Determine whether Future Steps or another resource may be appropriate.
- Communicate with donors, volunteers, referral sources, and community partners.
- Administer donations, acknowledgments, and records required for nonprofit operations.
- Protect the security and integrity of our website and communications.
Future Steps does not sell or rent personal information.
Online donations through Zeffy
Online donations are completed on Zeffy, a separate fundraising platform. Zeffy collects and processes the information needed to complete a transaction. Future Steps does not receive or store your complete payment-card or bank-account information through this website.
Information handled by Zeffy is also subject to Zeffy’s privacy policy. Zeffy may invite donors to make a separate, voluntary contribution to support its platform; that contribution is optional and is not a donation to Future Steps.
Website hosting and analytics
This website is hosted and protected by Cloudflare, which may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site. The site may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate information about page use and website performance. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors’ personal data and does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics.
Cloudflare’s handling of information is governed by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
When information may be shared
Future Steps may share information when reasonably necessary to operate the services described above, when you ask or authorize us to do so, when required by law, or when necessary to protect a person or the organization from serious harm. We do not promise that ordinary email is a secure method for transmitting sensitive information.
Retention, correction, and deletion
Because inquiries currently arrive primarily by email or phone, records may remain in those systems as part of normal nonprofit administration and recordkeeping. You may ask us to correct or delete personal information in our possession, subject to legal, financial, safety, and recordkeeping obligations.
